For more than a decade, Nightsong has delighted audiences with their gifted vocalists and talented musicians. The energy and chemistry generated in working together shines through to the delight of the many clients for whom they perform each year.
The source of the band’s inspiration and success is the band leader, Bennett Scher. Bennett got his start in New York as a well-known published singer/songwriter and live/studio session musician performing with notable musicians from the bands of Billy Joel, Peter Frampton, Joe Cocker, David Bowie, Whitney Houston, The Doobie Brothers, Bette Midler, Scandal and smooth jazz artist Spyro Gyra. Bennett has also performed as a featured player on stage with the legendary John Waite and popular recording group, Poco.

Nightsong's talented musicians and singers are equally accomplished. In addition to wowing audiences at numerous private events throughout the years, lead singers Jasmin, Reina and Frank have spent time on the stage, screen and even the football field! Jasmin has recently come off tour as a principal background singer/dancer for R&B star, Mya. She is currently finishing her debut solo CD. Reina has traveled internationally with symphonies, dance companies and touring acts. She plays the oboe and English horn, has performed in the national Broadway tour of Ain't Misbehavin' and is the first call background singer for Irene Cara of "Fame." Frank, after finishing his career in the 80's as a middle linebacker for the Washington Redskins, turned his full attention to music and trotted the globe as a lead singer on major Gospel music tours. The list of talents and accomplishments with this band goes on and on.
Nightsong performs in formats of 7 to 10 pieces providing variety music ranging from current music of today to yesterday’s favorites. The band consists of Guitar, Bass, Keyboards, Drums, and three lead singers (one male and two female vocalists). For an even fuller sound consider adding the optional horn section and percussionist.
Talent, energy and professionalism with an awesome commitment to the sound of the music is the reason Nightsong continues to be one of the area’s most popular variety bands.
